Medieval fiddle - The medieval fiddle, drawn from the Arab rebab, is one of the evolutions of a long series of instruments usually called bowed Medieval Fiddle, where the strings stretched on the neck vibrate by means of a bow.
The first historical notice concerning the bow arrives us from the treatise “The great book of music” written by Al Farabi, an important theorician of X century native of “tranzoxiana” (present Uzbekistan).
